This is a new recipe just posted on the Xagave.com blog.

1/2 cup water
6 tomatoes, halved or quartered
1 tbsp. olive or canola oil
1 tsp. agave nectar
1/4 tsp. Tabasco
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. sea salt
2 large, fresh basil leaves

Combine all ingredients into blender and run on high speed for 3 to 4 minutes or until desired temperature (at least 2 “Soups” cycles with a Blendtec).

  1. Would the tabasco make it spicy? Also, I am not familiar with agave. Can I get that anywhere?

Ian, the Tobasco in this recipe will add just a little bit of flavor and “kick.” It will not be spicy at all. Of course, it is perfectly fine to eliminate it completely if you do not like even a little bit of spice.

Agave nectar is readily available in most grocery stores and health food stores. It can be found on the sugar aisles as it’s a sugar alternative. The same amount of honey would also work in this recipe.
