This simple green smoothie is one of Blendtec’s “Recipes of the Week.” ¬†Each serving has just 96 calories and less than 1 gram of fat!

2 cups cold water
1 apple, quartered and cored
1 pear, quartered and cored
2 cups chard
1 stalk of celery, halved
2 frozen bananas, halved

Place all ingredients in blender and run on medium-high to high speed for 50 seconds until smooth (“Whole Juice” cycle with a Blendtec).

  1. Tasty Green Smoothie has only 96 calories per serving, but how many servings does the recipe make? With two bananas, an apple and a pear, it can’t possibly be one (and probably not two). Can you let me know how many servings this makes?

Patty, you bring up a good point. Obviously it all depends on what a single-serving is in your book. But, my guess is this recipe makes around 40 ounces of smoothie. That would be 5 servings at 8 ounces each.

  2. Are your recipes that you have posted here for the wildside or fourside blender? I just purchased my Blendtec with the book and the wildside jar but most of the recipes are for fourside. Is there a way to convert the recipes? I am somewhat disappointed with the recipe book as it is basically useless. Thanks for any help.

Cindy, most of these recipes I either created, borrowed, or adapted for use with the FourSide. You can certainly make any of them in the WildSide, though, and probably most without converting at all. However, if you think the recipe is a little on the “short” side for your WildSide, increase the volume of your ingredients 10% to 15% or so and you should be fine.
