Questions? Comments? Let’s talk about it here!
  1. My friend is having jaw surgery and will have her jaw wired shut she is looking to invest in a good blender. What is the differences better the four sides and the wildsides. Jar size? Is one an older model?

  2. What about seeds? I love using hemp seeds but my current bender will not blend them enough
    Thank you
    Valerie

  3. Do you have any ideas if I’d be hit by duty fees by UPS when it delivers? I live in Canada.

  4. Hello~ Do you know when the Blendtec Wildside is going to be available in black?

    Thank you.

    • bd

Cheryl, black is a very popular color in this model and any period during which they are out of stock in usually temporary.

  5. BlenderDude,

How well does this blender handle standard ice-maker ice cubes? I would like to use it mainly for smaller smoothies, so I think I might go with the FourSide jar. If you think that I would be better off with another model or brand, please let me know.

    Thank You

    • In addition, I would like to make homemade “Frappuccinos,” so the ability to handle ice (frequently and for years to come) is a must. Thank you again.

      • bd

This is a great blender for those types of recipes. And you should feel very confident about getting years of use out of it.

    • bd

Brian, power-wise, standard ice-maker ice cubes are easily handled by the Blendtec. The only potential issue you might run into is cavitation. If you use a moderate amount of liquid relative to the amount of ice cubes in your recipe, you should have little difficulty. Otherwise you may find yourself occasionally having to stop the blender and help redirect ingredients back into the cutting paths of the blades with something like a spatula.

  6. Hi Blender Dude!

I used your site a lot to read on different blender brand in order to make a choice for my new blender (I’ll finally have a Blendtec). I still have a question regarding the whole juice vs smoothie difference. When to use whole juice preset vs Smoothie preset? What would be the difference between what would be a whole juice vs a smoothie?

Thanks a lot and hope you’ll continue your good work!
    Sandrine

    • bd

Sandrine, I would only use the Smoothie preset for recipes out of the Blendtec recipe book that specifically call for it. It is a shorter cycle and generally uses lower speeds tailored for a few specific recipes. The Whole Juice cycle, on the other hand, is a longer cycle that incorporates a variety of speeds, including a fairly long duration on the higher ones. This cycle is more practical for most “smoothies” in my opinion, especially those calling for frozen fruit. When you are experimenting with smoothie recipes and are in doubt over which of these cycles to select, my recommendation is always Whole Juice.

  7. Hi, do you have any idea how much the extra charges might be to ship to Canada? I understand that there may be taxes involved but the Blendtec site also mentions extra delivery and brokerage fees…these can sometimes be exorbitant if it’s via one of the major shipping companies.
    Thanks and Happy New Year!

    • bd

Dave, as far as I know there should be no shipping charges to Canada originating from Blendtec. Duty fees will most-likely apply once it reaches you, however. I have no experience with those so really can’t give you any guidance on those. Blendtec does use major carriers. I wish you the best of luck and Happy New Year to you as well.

  8. does the free shipping include to hawaii?

    • Blenderdude

Darby, unless Blendtec has changed its policy very recently, yes, free shipping does extend to Hawaii. The offer is valid only when purchase is completed via Blendtec’s authorized affiliates, so you will want to use the links from this site when ready to place your order. Thanks!

  9. Do you have the info on what is reconditioned on the blenders? Thx! ^.^

    • Blenderdude

Tia, this is always specific to the individual blender, as one can be returned to the factory for a myriad of reasons. In all cases the unit will undergo a comprehensive recertification processing involving diagnostic testing at the Blendtec factory to ensure the motor base and all other components are in perfect working order. Often, if not in the majority of cases, the units just need to be properly repackaged with after testing as they have been used little, if at all. I have seen first-hand the condition of literally hundreds of Blendtec returns and the overwhelming majority looked like they had hardly been removed from the box. I would expect a Factory Recertified unit to look and perform exactly as a new one.

  10. Do you deliver blender machines to Slovakia? (note: 220volt models required)

  11. BD. i bought a Vitamix on your site the other day and now I may also want to buy the Blendtec as a gift for my parents. The refurbished Blendtec has two links on the site and one says it’s a 3 year warranty and the other says 7 years (this is the one on your welcome page top left). They seem to be the same exact blender.

In short is it a 3 year or 7 year warranty?
Also, since I would like to gift this one, does it come in a nice like new box or is the box more beat up?

    • Blenderdude

Vince, they are indeed the very same blender and I appreciate you pointing out the discrepancy. This past year Blendtec did increase the warranty coverage on their Factory Recertified Total Blenders from 3 years to 7, and as of your comment I had not yet updated its page to reflect this change. The amendment to the site has been made and you may rest assured that this model carries a 7-year warranty. Thanks again.

The boxes come straight from Blendtec’s warehouse after the recertification process and should all be in very nice condition.

  12. What’s the difference between the vitamix and the blendtec?

    Thanks,

    • Blenderdude

Lisa, there are several. I recommend watching my video series on this site. I go into detail on many of the differences in those. They are both great blenders but you may see something in the videos that pulls you toward one over the other.
