Questions? Comments? Let’s talk about it here!
  1. I am trying to decide between the Blendtec 725 & 750 models. I lean towards the 725, but have heard that they had issues in the past with the black rubber gasket shredding. Do you know if that issue has been fixed?

    • bd

Ann, that particular issue is with the containers (which are the same on both models), not the individual model, itself. While there are still instances of this issue being reported, Blendtec continues its excellent warranty coverage of their blenders, which include the containers. Should this issue arise with either model you select, you will be entitled to a brand new container for the entire duration of your warranty.

    • bd

Ann, short of a major redesign of the drive assembly of the container, my guess is this issue will never be completely eradicated. However, Blendtec continues to be excellent regarding honoring their warranties and will replace the container should this ever happen to you during the full extent of the coverage. The containers used for the 725 and 750 are identical, so this issue is not model-specific.

  2. Thanks for replying to all my questions. I have one last question. I’m inclined to get Vitamix. But, I keep looking at Blendtec…the reason that its holding me back is because Vitamix is known to last forever. Do you know if Blendtec is known for the same thing? Also, how easy is it to clean the knobs and dials on Vitamix? I know, crazy questions. lol. If the Vitamix is easy to clean then Vitamix I will get. It does seems like its easier to create things in the Vitamix. Will Blendtec do the same things as Vitamix? Thank you for taking your time in answering my questions.

Vanessa, you’re welcome. I got my first Vitamix well over 8 years ago and my first Blendtec over 5. I now have several models of both and have never had a single mechanical issue with any of them. One of my Blendtec demonstration blenders has over 50,000 cycles-worth of use. If you do some quick math using that figure you will see that it represents years, if not decades, of “normal” use.

Both Blendtec and Vitamix models are super-easy to clean. I’ve never had to give either more than a quick wipe with a damp cloth or sponge. It can be easier to make certain recipes in the Vitamix because of the tamper that comes with it. Despite its reputation in some circles as a nuisance or something extra to have to keep up with and/or clean, I find it to be an invaluable tool in helping tough, thick, or frozen ingredients get into the cutting path of the blades – thus increasing the chances of frustration-free blending. The Blendtecs are plenty strong and are capable of everything a Vitamix is, but can sometimes require a little extra “help” on the part of the user. Good luck with your decision!

      • Hey, Blender Dude.

After much debate and consideration. I have decided on a Vitamix 750 blender. Thank you for all your help. I love the idea of Blendtec 725..but what made me choose Vitamix 750 is because you seem to make recipes easier. Also, the color of the juice and smoothies may seem richer in the Vitamix? Thank you, again!

        • bd

Vanessa, the Pro 750 is a great choice. I think you’ll really enjoy it and, yes, the tamper that comes with it generally helps the blender handle even the toughest of ingredients. Congratulations and happy blending!

  3. Hey, Thanks for the reply. I like how sturdy the Vitamix looks. But, I also like the touchscreen point with Blendtec. I’m overwhelming myself with looking at both blenders. I have two special needs children and I want to add better nutrition to their diets.

    • bd

Vanessa, fortunately for you either manufacturer/model you choose will be a great tool for assisting with adding extra nutrition to the diets of your children. Both of the features/characteristics you like on these blenders are legitimate points to take into account. You won’t make a poor decision. If all else fails, trust your instinct and go with the one you think you will be inclined to use the most often.

  4. Hey, I can’t make a decision with either getting Blendtec 725 or Vitamix 750? What is your personal recommendation? This is a huge purchase for me. I’ve read about issues from both company’s…I’m wondering what would be a smarter and more efficient purchase?

    • bd

Vanessa, these are both fantastic machines. I certainly understand the importance of making an informed decisonWithout knowing your predisposition to certain price points, intended uses, and blender features and characteristics, though, I couldn’t recommend one over the other. The 725 is the more powerful machine. It is stronger than any model I’ve ever used. The Pro 750 is very strong in its own right, too. For justifying the difference in price I would weigh just how inclined you think you’ll be to using pre-programmed cycles, a tamper, and how important having the most powerful model is to you.
