This colorful smoothie is absolutely loaded with antioxidants. Feel free to add any greens of your choice, as well. For instance, since you’re already buying fresh beets, go ahead and use the tops. They’re extremely high in Vitamins A and K. Use gloves or lightly coat your hands with vegetable oil prior to peeling beets to keep them from staining your hands.
1 cup lowfat milk
1 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 cup frozen beet chunks, peeled
1 1/2 frozen bananas
Place all ingredients in blender and run on high speed for 40 – 50 seconds (“Whole Juice” cycle with a Blendtec).
