Banana Lassi Smoothie

This is a recipe I modified slightly after reading this post from the online food magazine, Honest Cooking.  A Lassi is an Indian yogurt drink that’s main ingredient is traditionally mango.  I’ll eventually try this with mango but, to date, I’ve only made this with banana.  Also, I freeze the banana to keep from having to use ice which would dilute the smoothie.  Cardamom is a sweet, peppery spice that is key to the distinct flavor of a Lassi.

1/2 cup cold water
1 cup plain yogurt
1/2 tsp. cardamom spice
1 tbsp. agave nectar or honey
2 frozen bananas

Place all ingredients in blender and run on high speed for 40 – 50 seconds (“Whole Juice” cycle with a Blendtec).
